Every window, one row of tabs.
MTab places a tab strip above the app in front. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and everything else. Switch, close, save all, group and tile, without hunting through the taskbar or Mission Control.
Six documents. One glance.
One tab per window of the app in front, coloured by app. Click to switch, middle-click to close, Ctrl+Tab to cycle. The strip sits above the window, never over its title bar, and shrinks to an icon when the window is narrow.
Halves, thirds, quarters.
Hover the maximize button for a snap picker, or choose a layout from the tab menu. Two contracts side by side, a budget over a deck. MTab never moves a window on its own.
- Snap picker on hover, Windows 11 style, on both platforms
- Exact tiles: MTab waits until the window really lands
- Tab click never resizes anything
Save all. Rename in place. Never lose an hour.
Office windows get file tools in the strip: Save all, Rename, new document, and an auto-save that quietly saves every changed file every 1, 5 or 10 minutes. Recent files search merges Office's own list with what you actually opened.
- Groups: save a set of files, reopen them together
- Colour tags to find a tab at a glance
- Works with every other app too, tabs and layouts included
Office never had tabs. Now it does, everywhere.
Browsers solved window clutter twenty years ago. Office and most desktop apps still open one window per file. MTab is a small external app that watches the app in front and draws the strip. No add-in, nothing inside Office, immune to updates.

Does it change Office or install an add-in?
No. MTab is a separate app that draws a strip above the window in front. Office, and every other app, runs untouched.
What does the trial need?
Only an email. We send a 6-digit code, and the 14 days start on that device and that email together. No card.
How many computers?
Three per subscription, any mix of Mac and Windows. Remove an old machine from your account page to free its seat.
Does it work offline?
Yes, for up to 7 days at a time. MTab checks in with the licence service about once a day when it can.
What does it read?
Window titles and positions through the system accessibility interfaces, and file paths of Office documents for the file tools. Never document contents.
